Patrick Baptism July 2023

I have been baptized, in my quest to pursue the followings of Jesus Christ in my local community in Barrington, New Hampshire. A lot has happened since I became ill with COVID-19, and was hospitalized, having to postpone working on my Ph.D. degree program for the time being. Reading the bible, including at bible study classes at The Journey Church, allowed me to open my heart to others, including the needy and the poor, and find myself better rooted in the Christian community, including studying the miricles of God's work every day in my technology career.

I started attending church in hopes of finding a woman who shares the same passions that I do, so I can someday get married and have a family with her. I wanted to find a woman that is dilligent with organizational skills, that can help to motivate me, and comfort me with there is anxiety about a large project that has yet to be completed. I wanted to find a woman that is good at cooking and cleaning and crafts, however also at intelligent hobbies such as computer usage, and even marketing and computer science and legal works, if I can find a woman that meets this criteria. So let our community know if you know of anyone that meets these select criteria, so I can be sure to invite her to our church, and get to know her better, to better serve thy Heavenly Father.

God Bless Everyone!

The Art of Programming

Patrick has noticed that certain days are better than others as far as the amount of code that he can write, and he's working to figure out why some days are more productive. Patrick's goal is to be as productive as his best day programming, every day that he writes code. He isn't as concerned with the sheer amount of code that is written, because as anyone knows, when you're programming in HTML, or something that you're familiar with, it's very easy to produce a lot of code - such as when you're copying and pasting lots of code, and altering it just a little bit. This isn't what Patrick considers his 2,000 lines of code per day average contribution to projects. If you count the brainless programming of these sorts, Patrick could easily write 50,000+ lines of code a day in HTML/CSS, but what's the point? If you can write a program that does everything for you, why do you need to write 50,000+ lines of HTML/CSS a day? Certainly that would be quite an accomplishment for a fifth grader, but for a seasoned programmer? It's a waste of their time. It's much better to write AI that can automatically write articles for you, but that type of code takes a lot longer to conceptualize and manufacture - however, the value of that code is worth millions of times more than the HTML/CSS it produces.

Patrick has heard people suggest that everything has already been done, however he continues to come up with ideas for new products and services. The difficulty has been finding the time to produce the projects associated with these ideas. MCE123 Technology Development just shows some of the value of Patrick's work - that he'd be able to survive in a tough position like CTO or CIO, but there are a lot of things that Patrick thinks he could improve his knowledge on - such as corporate finance, executive coaching, and project management skills. But that will come later - for now Patrick is just solely focused on how to become a better computer programmer. He wants to be able to be as productive as possible each and every work day, and there are not many days that Patrick doesn't work. Work is really all Patrick understands - he has no evident personal life, and hasn't for decades. He just works on anything he can, whenever he can, and right now that is mostly academic-based work, but the fact of the matter is that Patrick's personality makes him extremely anxious when he isn't working. It's tough for Patrick to relax - and companies should be willing to pay more for that level of dedication, because there are not many people that have the drive that Patrick does. He hasn't always been rewarded for all of the extra work that he puts into things, but he's also never been a liability to a company. Patrick just wants to be the best employee that he can be, because if he's not the best with regards to his work, he has nothing to show for at the end of the day. Other people have families that they go home to, and raising children takes a lot of time... Patrick spends all of that time working on his career - and it shows in his work ethic.

Progress of Patrick's PhD Studies

Patrick R. McElhiney has been working on his PhD degree at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. He is majoring in Artificial Intelligence, which is in the field of Computer Science. Patrick can be seen in the dark green shirt in the middle of the group above, that met for the Responsible Conduct of Research conference for all incoming PhD students at the University of New Hampshire. Only 1% of the world's population has a PhD degree, and Patrick believes it is such an honor to be able to pursue higher education and scholarship at UNH.

Dean Cari Moorhead said that this event was a great success - there are 105 new PhD students this year (Fall 2018) and only two of the students didn't show up for the meeting. The meeting required the advance passing of 12 modules that taught about the ethics in research, such as how to treat animals, how to deal with nuclear and chemical materials on campus, and how to properly cite sources. Although not all of these modules pertained to Patrick's research specifically, it was good to learn more. Dean Moorhead added that the meeting was the one place that we'd ever see as many PhD students, or "PhD wanna-bees" as she phrased it, in one location for probably Patrick's entire career. He wasn't so sure of that - there could certainly be other opportunities in Patrick's future.

Patrick R. McElhiney has begun working on his PhD degree in Computer Science at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in Durham, majoring in Artificial Intelligence. Currently, Patrick is working on pre-requisite classes that he has stated he is finding extremely easy to fulfill considering he already has a Master’s in Information Technology (MSIT). Patrick graduated from UNH’s Manchester campus this summer, after successfully defending his Thesis entitled “Scalable Web Service Development with Amazon Web Services”, which is being published with open access, and a copy will remain in the Diamond Library in Durham.

Patrick was promoted to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of MCE123, pursuant to his 20 years of experience in the industry and his successful completion of his MSIT degree. He is currently working on re-coding the entire MCE123 website, and is working with several other companies to completely overhaul MCE123.com. He is also in charge of many different servers for web hosting, which can be considered a Big Data operation at over 40TB of storage arrays active now. McElhiney developed a new Social Media platform known as MeAndYou, www.meandyou.us, as part of the project for his master’s Thesis.

Patrick McElhiney has also been working on a Marketing Planner web app, which he intends to sell to a major marketing firm in the future. The web app allows multiple users to interact with sets of forms to develop marketing plans of several different types, including standard and comprehensive. Patrick is responsible for all of the research that has gone into the project, and he has been working with several other UNH students to work on the coding of the website and deployment of the infrastructure.

Patrick is still doing work for MCE123 Technology Development as well, including the development of a concept for an essential oils wireless controlled diffuser, that would give a sense of smell to watching television or movies, by releasing specific scents at specific times of the film, or allow a home user to select a scent from mixtures of multiple essential oils that are all contained in small bottles that securely adhere to the device through suction. McElhiney hasn’t filed for any of the patents for any of his invention concepts, which are located on MCE123.com, because he doesn’t have enough time and resources to pursue them all. They act as a reference point for potential employers to see how versatile Patrick can be when he is challenged.
