There could be a dental composite made that allows it to change color with regular methods of whitening that are safe for other teeth, such as the use of composite materials that are made up of tiny pieces of old teeth mixed with some type of strong glue that binds it all together and allows it to be cured under an ultra-violet light source.
This would allow the possibility for fillings that virtually are real teeth.
